I returned to London this weekend for the first time in a few months and was disappointed to find that the tubes were not gold plated and there didn't appear to be any buffet trolleys, toilets or in-trip entertainment.

These past few weeks have been turbulent for the Liberal Democrats. After ousting Charles Kennedy as leader, the ensuing contest to replace him has proven to be highly damaging for their party.
A twist to tuition

The classically mundane position over tuition fees has been that the big bad "Powers That Be" don't like students, and in not liking them institute an unfair policy of replacing grants with fees, then with higher fees, for university education.
