Physical Sciences Elections

Posted: Mar 22nd 2003, 15:21

After the farcical first attempt, the Faculty of Physical Sciences Student Association (FPSSA) elections have finally been settled. There was only one complaint lodged during the election, regarding the fact that the candidate for the Research Representative was an undergraduate and was hence not suitable for the post. This complaint was thrown out after examination of the constitution revealed that this was not a requirement.

The results were announced last night by Richard Vodden, the new returning officer, and were as follows:

Chemistry Departmental Representative: Tiffany Mahmood

Maths Departmental Representative: Christian Morgenstern

Physics Departmental Representative: Colin MacLeod

Research Representative: Jun Zhang

Education Officer: Chunxiu Yang

Welfare Officer: Pedro marion

Events Officer: Chi Siu

Publications Officer: Kook, Ae-rin

Treasurer: Jonothan Cohen

Honorary Secretary: Lucy Cannon

President: Yong Bin Xu

The turnout was only marginally lower than it was the first time round, which was surprising since polling occurred on the last two days of term.
