" We aren't allowed to revise in the pub."
On Friday 21 April, two first-year students came to Felix to complain that they were being prevented from revising in Harrington's Bar. The students were studying in the `new Southside Bar' when the manager, Roger Pownall, ask them to kindly vacate the table they were using. The students were outraged at being moved. They said, "the place was virtually empty, with plenty of free tables. We were bringing in good business".
Mr. Pownall told Felix he asked them if they could revise somewhere else as "the bar will be getting very busy at the end of this week as students are finishing their exams". He continued, "a bar isn't the best place to study, there are plenty of other areas to work in College. The bar is somewhere people come to escape the stress of work; it doesn't really help the ambience we are trying to create." Christian Maine, a Masters student, told Felix, "This could only happen at Imperial!"
