International fanmail

Issue #1344 [Feb 16th 2006]

To the Editors of Felix,

I'm a student at the University of Delaware in the United States. The other day, while taking a break from Art History, I did some random searches on Google to entertain myself. I was hoping to find a bit of comedic relief and was very pleased when I came across the Felix website.

Let me preface this by saying that our student newspaper, The Review, is poorly run and only humorous if you play "find the typos" with your friends. In contrast, I fell out of my chair laughing after reading the "Brown Couch" articles about the library war and the prayer-off on your website. Some of my favorite phrases include the "conversion line" and the "molotov textbooks". This column has the perfect combination of subtle humor and sarcasm, even correctly referencing religious terminology in its creative narrative!

If only someone would start a column like this at UD I know our paper would attract a much larger audience. In the meantime, I will continue to pass on Felix to my friends and hope for a day when I won't have to look across the Pond to brighten my day.

Keep up the great work,

Ashley

Re: International fanmail
Wow. I never realised Felix had such global reach! :P Out of interest, if you happen to be reading this, Ashley, what did you search for to find the website?

Re: International fanmail
That's what I was wondering. Rupert reckons it's "student newspaper" or something along those lines.

Ooh, yeah. Result #16 for that - not bad.

Re: International fanmail
That's only if you use google.co.uk (how lame to be discussing this). Either way, she would be using google.com, which doesn't find it in the first 100. So must've been something else, eh?
