Union President resigns
Mustafa Arif, President of Imperial College Union, offered his resignation this morning.
In an email to the Union Council Chair and the College's Clerk to the Court and Council, Mr Arif said that he no longer believed he was up to the job, and that "I don't think it's in anyone's best interests for me to continue in office".
He said that he would continue in the job until a successor is elected, and "tidy up as much stuff as possible for handover purposes".
Speaking to Felix a few moments ago, Mr Arif said: "You will be getting a column from me this week, but I'm not allowed to talk about it [resigning] yet". Read the President's thoughts in Felix this Thursday.
No reasons for the decision have been given as yet. More news will appear here in due course.
